A hollow structural section column interfaces with a concrete masonry unit wall and its reinforcing as sized per plan. Horizontal bond beams occur within the masonry assembly, tied with ASTM A706 grade reinforcing bars measuring number 5 by three feet long at every other bond beam or at a maximum spacing of eight feet on center. An option for a field weld connects the assembly where required by the construction notes. This connection detail applies to both structural and non-structural masonry walls.
