This structural detail shows a cast-in-place concrete pit with continuous reinforcing bars and a grating cover set into a recessed edge. The concrete walls and base slab have an eight-inch thickness with maximum dimensions of four feet unless noted otherwise. Vertical and horizontal wall reinforcement consists of number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center each way, centered within the wall. Continuous number four bars run along the top and bottom corners of the pit assembly. The surrounding slab thickness and reinforcement are sized per plan.
