A wide flange steel girder supports a concrete slab over metal deck with welded wire fabric and additional top reinforcing bars centered over the support. Continuous high chairs support number three bars at each end with a six-inch minimum clearance. Welded wire fabric is lowered to place the top bars, maintaining a three-quarter-inch clearance. Additional reinforcing requires number four bars at three feet long spaced at twelve inches on center for concrete thickness less than three inches, or number five bars at three feet long spaced at twelve inches on center for concrete thickness greater than or equal to three inches. Reinforcement shown over girders is in addition to typical slab reinforcement specified on the drawings, and size of the wide flange girder is sized per plan.
