A concrete slab over a metal floor deck bears on a supporting steel beam with a centerline offset. An edge closure plate closes the deck flutes, with thickness varying from 3/16 inch to 3/8 inch depending on the overhang dimension L as specified in the accompanying table. A continuous reinforcing bar runs horizontally within the concrete edge zone. A 3/16 inch fillet weld spaced at 3 inches on center connects the assembly typically. Additional reinforcement at the exterior wall connection requires referencing exterior wall details.
