An elevator door sill support bent plate or angle spans the full width of the shaft and connects to the supporting steel beam assembly. A three-eighths-inch or five-sixteenths-inch bent plate runs the full width of the shaft, secured with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds and one-half-inch diameter by one-foot-six-inch welded deformed bar anchors spaced at fifteen inches on center. The concrete slab features reinforcement per plan and bears on the steel beam with a two-inch minimum bearing length. Field verification of the actual shaft is required prior to installation.
