Metal deck bears across the top flange of a structural steel beam, with deck welding specified per plan and a continuous L6x6x1/4 angle at the perimeter edge. When the deck runs parallel to the edge beam, a continuous C4x4.5 channel spans at ten feet on center maximum, connected with three-quarter inch diameter through bolts and supported by a shear tab welded to the main beam web with three-sixteenth inch fillet welds. A continuous angle is secured to the channel using three-quarter inch diameter through bolts. Deck welding follows the referenced structural specification for both conditions.
