A hollow structural section diagonal brace connects to a three-quarter-inch gusset plate welded beneath a steel beam per plan and an HSS column per elevation. The diagonal HSS member is welded with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld, maintaining a minimum length of ten inches, and includes a working point offset designated as two times the thickness. The gusset plate meets the beam and column joints at the specified working point, with minimum six-inch weld lengths.
