A new concrete slab infill connects to an existing eight-inch or ten-inch concrete wall and an existing steel beam. The installation requires chipping back the existing concrete along the slab edge while taking care to leave the existing wall and beam rebar undamaged. New slab rebar extends from the infill and ties into the existing structure using number five epoxy dowels with an eighteen-inch embedment spaced at six inches maximum on center. A one-inch ledge is formed at the interface, with slab thickness and rebar sizing specified per plan.
