New hollow structural section collectors connect to the web of an existing wide flange beam with fasteners spaced at four to twelve inches on center staggered typically at each hollow structural section. The hollow structural section size is determined per plan for each beam location. Field welding and fastening details are indicated by standard structural symbols.
