A structural steel column bears on a base plate anchored to a concrete pier with anchor bolts. Three sets of ties at 2 inches on center are placed around the anchor bolts within the pier. The concrete pier rests upon a concrete footing, and a concrete slab-on-grade surrounds the upper portion of the assembly with a concrete pour-back.
