A concrete generator footing interfaces with an exterior slab-on-grade. The footing features a turned-down edge around the entire exterior perimeter, separated from the exterior slab by a continuous half-inch isolation material. Reinforcement consists of two continuous number six bottom bars and number five bars at twelve inches on center each way at the top and bottom, with number six bars at twelve inches on center along the footing. The generator platform is supported directly off the edge of the footing, with a three-inch clear cover specified for the bottom and side reinforcement and a two-inch clear cover at the top. The contractor must coordinate slab openings required for electrical stub-ups with the engineer of record prior to placing reinforcement.
