Foundation footings bear upon compacted engineered fill placed over native undisturbed soil or rock. Moisture-conditioned fill requires a relative compaction between ninety percent and ninety-three percent at at least three percent over optimum moisture. Deeper engineered fill requires a relative compaction greater than or equal to ninety percent at at least three percent over optimum moisture. Fill slopes conform to the geotechnical report with a minimum five-foot horizontal distance from the edge of the footing to the fill limit. The required depth of engineered fill and depth dimension D are verified in the field by the geotechnical engineer.
