A continuous steel roof deck bears on a wide-flange beam and open-web steel joist sized per plan. A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate or alternative one-quarter-inch angle is provided at the contractor's option along the edge. The bent plate is secured to the joist with a three-sixteenths-inch weld. The roof deck is attached per the structural schedule for size and attachment.
