The assembly connects framing beams to an existing structural steel column using four typical 16 gauge L-shaped plates. Each plate is secured to the beam flange with a one-quarter inch minimum fillet weld. Twelve number ten self-tapping sheet metal screws fasten the strap end to the sixteen gauge plate at one inch on center spacing typical. The configuration repeats across four sides of the column with a typical dimension of twenty-four inches.
