This connection detail joins two C5 channel members using a three-eighths by three-inch steel plate connected with two seven-eighths-inch diameter high-strength bolts. The bolt spacing is dimensioned at one and a half inches from the plate edge, followed by a three-inch spacing, with quarter-inch edge clearances. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the plate assembly to the channel member.
