A wide flange column connects to incoming wide flange beams via top and bottom ASTM A572 Grade 50 flange plates of specified thickness on each side. A bolted shear tab welded to the column web secures the beam web using snug-tightened bolts with standard washers in oversized holes. Continuity plates matching the flange plate thickness are welded inside the column web opposite the beam flanges. Additional connection details and information are referenced on connection section A.
