A circular penetration greater than 4 inches in diameter through a slab on ground is wrapped in a half-inch flexible closed-cell foam plank that runs the full depth of the slab and is finished with sealant. The opening is reinforced top and bottom with two number 3 hooked bars placed at typical clearances. A 1-foot 6-inch typical dimension locates the penetration from surrounding edges or reference points.
