Steel beams frame into the column web at differing depths using a bolted shear tab and top and bottom continuity plates. The shear plate thickness equals the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch. Continuity plates match specified top and bottom flange sizes, welded with fillet welds typical unless noted otherwise. A second row of bolts is added as required per structural plans. Edge distances and bolt spacings follow AISC specifications.
