A steel beam connects to a steel supporting surface using a connection plate sized per schedule and secured with bolts. The beam flange features a cope top and bottom as required for proper installation, maintaining the minimum AISC 'k' distance. Bolt centerlines are set at one and one-half inches from the support. The connection plate is typically three inches in dimension and tied back to the supporting surface per structural schedules.
