A wide-flange steel beam frames into a steel column flange via a single-plate shear connection. A one-half-inch thick plate is welded to the column face with a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. The beam web connects to the plate with four three-quarters-inch diameter A325 bolts spaced at three inches vertically.
