A depressed concrete floor slab supported per the footing and foundation plan, tied across the joint with dowels matching the slab reinforcing. For the construction joint, a continuous keyway is provided with each side of the joint tooled to a 1/8" radius. For the control joint, the top edge is tooled to a 1/8" radius and a sawcut is required within the first 12 hours of the pour. Both joint types maintain a minimum 6-inch dimension at the vertical step.
