A wide-flange beam frames into an HSS post using a top plate and seat angles. The connection utilizes four three-quarter-inch high-strength bolts on standard wide-flange beam gauge at the top and bottom, with shims provided as required. A three-quarter-inch thick plate is welded to the top of the HSS post with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. Seat angles sized L7x4x1 at two feet six inches long are welded to the post and the bottom flange of the beam with one-quarter-inch fillet welds.
