Three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to the column web and flanges with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The plates maintain a minimum one-and-a-half-inch offset and respect the column K-distance limits with a maximum one-half-inch dimension. A gusset plate is provided by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer at the column centerline.
