A steel deck runs parallel to a concrete masonry unit bond beam wall, terminating with a one-and-a-half-inch minimum typical gap. A quarter-inch by fifteen-inch by two-foot-three-inch embed plate labeled 'S1' is secured to the deck flute using four three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors with three-and-a-quarter-inch minimum embedment spaced at twelve inches on center. A four-by-three by five-sixteenth-inch by one-foot-long angle with long leg vertical is welded to the plate at each end with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. Expansion anchors must be located a minimum of six inches from the edge of the concrete in any direction.
