A steel brace is connected to the near side and far side of a steel column supporting a concrete over metal floor deck assembly. The steel beam frames into the column flange using a bolted shear tab connection. Diagonal steel braces are welded to the column with three-sixteenths inch typical fillet welds. The concrete slab on metal deck passes continuously past the column line.
