A concrete slab on steel deck bears above a bond beam wall with a typical top-of-wall gap. An L4x3x5/16x1'-0" angle with long leg vertical is welded to a bent or fabricated 1/4-inch minimum plate at the slab edge using a 3/16-inch fillet weld at each end of the angle. A 1/4-inch fillet weld with E90 electrode connects the plate assembly. Reinforcement includes #4 bars at 18 inches minimum and #4 by 1'-6" ASTM A706 dowel bars in Grade 60 at 12 inches with a 3/4-inch clearance.
