Cold-formed metal stud framing bears against a structural steel beam and deflection track assembly. StiffClip 'LS' clips are attached at each stud using two powder-actuated fasteners into the steel beam and two number twelve self-tapping screws into the stud. A 600T250-54 deflection track accommodates vertical movement, maintaining a one-half inch minimum gap between the stud and track with a one-and-one-half inch minimum stud engagement. Stud blocking is required within six inches of the deflection track to secure sheathing. TSN drift clips are also detailed at each stud or jamb, fastened with two number twelve screws into the stud and two powder-actuated fasteners into the steel.
