This assembly consists of a wide-flange column base plate anchored to a foundation via an embed plate. The column flanges are connected to the base plate with complete joint penetration welds, while the web is connected with 1/4-inch fillet welds. A gusset plate for the buckling restrained brace is integrated into the base assembly, secured by two 3/4-inch diameter F1554 Grade 36 anchor rods with 3/8-inch by 3-inch square plate washers. The base plate rests on a grout bed over a 1-inch by 24-inch by 24-inch embed plate, which is anchored by sixteen 5/8-inch diameter headed stud anchors spaced at 6 inches each way. Shear plates are provided at the base plate perimeter, welded with 5/16-inch fillet welds to the base plate and the embed plate.
