A handrail post embeds into a pipe sleeve fitted tight with the guardrail and filled with non-shrink grout. The pipe sleeve welds to a three-inch by three-inch by quarter-inch plate embedded within a ten-inch concrete grade beam and six-inch concrete slab reinforced with number three bars at eighteen inches on center each way. The grade beam contains number four bars at eighteen inches on center and continuous number four bars at twelve inches on center with three inches of clear cover typical. A three-foot setback separates the handrail from the slab edge, adjacent to landscaped areas.
