A drift track provided by the supplier is designed to accommodate the vertical and lateral deflections noted in the general structural notes. The assembly interfaces with a structural steel beam supporting a concrete slab on metal deck, maintaining a one-inch plus-or-minus gap at the slab edge. Full-depth stiffeners are provided opposite the beam connection where required. Studs may be connected together above the joint at the contractor's or supplier's option, and a joint occurs in the finishes as noted.
