Concrete wall and footing intersections require specific reinforcing bar layouts and lap splices for single and two-layer reinforcement configurations. Vertical reinforcement utilizes a minimum of two number five bars with standard hooks at corners where applicable. Lap splices alternate bend directions at every other bar and may be used at bent corner bars unless noted otherwise.
