This structural steel connection features a half-inch thick gusset plate welded to the column per elevation with quarter-inch fillet welds on near side and far side. A brace connects to the gusset plate with quarter-inch welds sized four inches long, maintaining a typical one-inch clearance. The beam connects to the column and gusset assembly using a plate fastened with either two bolts for W10 sections or three bolts for W12 sections, maintaining a two-inch clearance.
