This structural steel detail shows a column bevel transition splice connection utilizing a three-quarter-inch thick splice plate. The connection is secured with four high-strength ASTM A325 bolts and plug welds as required per the fabricator's design. A centered lift hole is provided in the splice plate. Complete joint penetration bevel transitions are detailed per AWS D1.1 standards.
