A structural steel brace frames into a structural steel column and beam assembly for a sky bridge. The connection incorporates a slotted plate with four horizontal slot configurations providing a two-hundred millimetre deflection slot at the underside of the deck. The diagonal brace features a welded connection with design forces and splice requirements governed by the structural elevations. An indicative design for the steel-to-steel connection is shown with specific connection design forces detailed on the plan and elevation drawings.
