Cold-formed steel wall studs terminate at a top track positioned beneath a structural steel beam supporting a concrete and metal deck floor slab. Deflection clips and drift track clips secure the top track to the steel beam while permitting independent vertical movement and structural drift of the floor assembly. The slotted fastener holes in the clips accommodate relative vertical deflection without transferring gravity loads to the non-load-bearing partition studs. The top track fits inside the deflection clip assembly to maintain lateral stability along the top of the wall.
