A concrete wall bears on a concrete footing with adjoining interior concrete slabs on grade. Vertical dowels extend thirty inches minimum from the footing to match the vertical reinforcement in the wall above. Expansion joint filler material separates the concrete slab on grade from the central concrete wall. The top of the footing features a one-quarter-inch roughened surface for shear transfer. Sub-slab preparation includes compacted granular fill and vapor retarder per architectural drawings.
