Concrete slab steps incorporate top and bottom reinforcing bars sized per plan with continuous lap splices of two feet as required. Additional #4 transverse bars spaced at eighteen inches top and bottom reinforce the step transition zone. The vertical step dimension "X" is sized per plan with a maximum limit of one foot and a minimum dimension equal to six times the bar size unless otherwise noted. Standard minimum lap lengths of one foot six inches apply to continuous reinforcing bars extending past the step transition.
