Tail extension lengths are specified as four bar diameters or two and a half inches minimum for 180-degree hooks, and six bar diameters or two and a half inches minimum for 135-degree hooks. Embedment lengths are dimensioned using development length variables for masonry walls alongside lap splice dimensions.
