A concrete column or steel column base plate is surrounded by an isolation joint with a number four edge bar. The assembly features a two-foot dimension with a four-inch clearance and a number four bar at locations without a contraction or construction joint. The void is infilled with lean concrete after the forms are removed. A contraction or construction joint is referenced on sheet eleven of S5.01.
