A structural steel joist bearing connection locates at a tilt-up concrete panel joint. The assembly rests on a one-half-inch by twelve-inch by one-foot-two-inch embed plate anchored into the concrete panels with four three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch head stud anchors. A three-eighths-inch by four-inch steel plate bridges the joint and supports the joist bearing angle, which consists of an L4x4x3/8 by zero-foot-eight-inch angle reinforced with two one-half-inch stiffener plates welded with typical fillet welds. The steel joist is secured using one three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolt placed in a long slotted hole oriented parallel to the tilt-up panel to allow for differential movement.
