An embedded steel plate measuring 2 feet 5 inches by 1 foot 10 inches features sixteen number 5 ASTM A706 reinforcing bars welded to the back face. The reinforcing bars are arranged in a 4 by 4 pattern with 6-inch horizontal and vertical spacings and 2-inch edge distances. A 5/16-inch fillet weld with E80 electrode is specified typically along the plate edges. Centerlines for intersecting beams are indicated on the plate layout.
