A diagonal kicker brace constructed from a L3x3x3/8 angle connects to the top flange of a steel beam supporting a concrete over metal floor deck. A quarter-inch by six-inch by zero-foot-six-inch weld plate connects to the diagonal brace and is secured with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The contractor may provide an alternate connection using two seven-eighths-inch diameter A325 bolts instead of the field weld connecting the plate to the beam. The structural layout accommodates required skew at each outrigger framing into the nearest steel beam.
