Cutting a new opening in an existing wall to prevent overcutting at the corners requires a one-inch diameter hole drilled at each corner of the planned opening prior to sawcutting. The lead edge of the saw blade must stop at the one-inch diameter hole. Any remaining existing wall material at the corners is chipped out or grouted as required.
