Reinforced concrete slab on metal deck bears over a structural steel beam near a stud wall. The slab edge is formed using a sixteen-gauge edge form and twenty-gauge end closure, with continuous number four rebar bent one hundred eighty degrees around a number four bar. Additional number four reinforcing bars are placed continuously and spaced at twelve inches on center. The metal deck runs perpendicular or parallel to the slab edge with a minimum two-foot extension over the end beam. A one-quarter-inch bent plate is welded with one-eighth-inch fillet welds at two-to-twelve spacing where the deck runs parallel to the slab edge.
