A centerline column splice connection utilizes a hollow structural section or similar tubular steel column member. The connection incorporates plates welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds typically at the top and bottom. Field welds are indicated with field weld symbols, alongside typical one-half-inch dimensions. Reference to sheet S-702 detail 3A is provided for related structural coordination.
