A concrete slab bears on a structural steel beam with studs welded to the top flange. The slab edge features a bent plate edge form and continuous reinforcing bars with 90-degree hooks sized to fit within the slab depth. A kicker brace is provided at the underside of the beam as specified per plan. Concrete cover is maintained at three-quarters of an inch.
