An existing threaded rod extends through the exterior unreinforced masonry wall, tied via an epoxy dowel and coupler to a threaded rod assembly spanning to interior wood blocking. A quarter-inch by four-inch by four-inch plate with a nut secures the rod at the six-by-six wood blocking, which is fastened with Simpson HUC66 or HU66 hangers at each end. A slip-on lock nut with a two-inch by two-inch by three-sixteenth-inch slotted plate washer anchors the exterior face. The threaded rod is bent as required after installing the nut and coupler to place the nut close to the midspan of the blocking. Mortar repair at the attic level is referenced on sheet one dash S seven point zero three.
