A hollow structural section steel column ties into perpendicular shear walls formed by cold-formed metal studs and Sure-Board sheathing. A minimum fifty-four mil bent plate connects the assembly with panel edge screwing. Powder-actuated fasteners are installed in two staggered rows at six inches on center. Additional edge screwing secures the Sure-Board panel directly to the metal stud framing.
