Cold-formed metal stud walls connect to structural steel overhead using a deep-leg deflection track secured with two 0.157-inch diameter Hilti X-U powder-actuated fasteners spaced at 16 inches on center. The assembly incorporates a deep leg inside track allowing vertical movement while maintaining lateral support. Metal stud blocking is provided within six inches of the deflection track to allow sheathing attachment without restricting wall deflection.
