An HSS 6x6 hollow structural section guiderail support tube bears on a 3/8-inch by 8-inch by 0'-8" steel plate anchored to the concrete pit wall. The steel plate is secured with two 1/2-inch diameter deformed bar anchors spaced at 5 inches on center. A 1/4-inch fillet weld connects three sides of the HSS tube to the base plate.
